Five Habits all stellar students of vocabulary possess.

1.  They look up unfamiliar words rather than merely

      trying to fathom what they mean from the context.

2.  They keep their word bank boiling by entering at

      least one or two new words a day.

3.  They read the newspaper every day and not just the

      comics.

4.   They read virtually every novel long before

       their teacher assigns it.

5.  They have gotten into the habit of reading books

      that they really like at least twice.

Developing vocabulary prowess is not an overnight thing.  It's not that hard to do but it does require persistence and patience.
