"Why do you think I turned the game on?"  Mrs. Hennings asked.

"Because you are nice," said Sam, whose nickname was Silent Sam because he rarely spoke but when you got him going he wouldn't shut up.

"Close but no cigar," said Mrs. Hennings.  "Does anyone else have an idea?"

"Because you noticed that we were too excited to pay attention to Moses," said Arthur Arnbuckle.

"Very perceptive," their teacher said.   "What gave the game away?"

"We were squirming in our seats and twirling pencils," Eleanor Eloquence exclaimed.

"Exactly," said Mrs. Hennings.  "Almost all of you were fidgeting.  Now that we have established the meaning of fidgeting why don't we move onto surge."

Donald Dardenelle, the walking, talking dictionary said, " a sudden rolling or sweeping forward of a wave."

"Pretty good for a start but can anybody add to it."

"Well," said Allison Ambercrombie, who was the class nerd and number one home run hitter.  "Anything that exists in the form of a wave can have a surge or surging effect."

"That should do it for today," Mrs. Hennings said.  "I am providing you with a synopsis of the struggles that Moses had with Pharoah,"

"Snyopsis," said Alfred, who was really up on vocabulary.  "Is that good or bad?" he asked.

"Synopsis is neither," said the Walking Talking Dictionary.

"It is merely short said Allison.  "As in a condensed statement or outline."

"On that note, we'll call it a day," said Mrs. Hennings.  "One other thing.  Please don't tell any of the other students that we were indulging.  I wouldn't want them to think we were a bunch of slackers."

"No worries, Mrs. H," said Geoffrey the gargoyle sketcher.
